Term Lecturer (Tourism Event Management)

Term Lecturer (Tourism Event Management) Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Haking Wong) Department / Section : Department of Hospitality Ref. no : O/HW-HT/TERM_L(TEM)/09/26 Major Duties: (a) To perform teaching duties, including preparation and delivery of programme materials, supervision of students’ projects and other academic activities; (b) To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration; (c) To develop programme curriculum and training, teaching, learning and assessment materials; (d) To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes; and (e) To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, campus / departmental projects and functions, including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars, short courses and exhibitions, where necessary. Requirements: (a) A relevant recognised degree or professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualification; (b) At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and/or industry experience; (c) Good presentation, teaching and facilitation skills in both English and Chinese; (d) Preferably with work experience in organising and executing mega events / sport events; and (e) Linkage with industry / professional bodies will be an added advantage. Notes: (1) Applicant(s) with less experience may be considered for the post of “Term Assistant Lecturer” at the rank of Teaching Associate. (2) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. (3) Shortlisted candidate(s) will be required to take a written assessment. (4) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal working hours and/or outside campus. (5) Candidates who are immediately available are preferred. (6) Applicant(s) who took a written assessment and/or been interviewed for the post in the last six months need not re-apply.
